Yesterday as I was leaving to go shopping, it hit me how dead and colorless everyone's yard is right now. I love the colors of the green grass and pretty flowers in the spring. They just seem to brighten everything up, including people's mood. As I was trudging through the store thinking about going back out into the cold weather and drab skies, I came across these beautiful flowers. I brought them home and am grateful to have a little bit of spring in the house even though it is in the 30s outside!

Week 4 - The Best Toys
This is part of my youngest son's marble collection. Even with all the fancy electronic toys out there, he still loves his marble collection. Don't get me wrong, he still spends plenty of time with all those electronics - but he enjoys the simple things too. I am most grateful for the time he spent with me on the back porch on hands and knees lining up the marbles just so and chasing the rolling ones when the wind blew through or the dogs ran over his latest masterpiece. He also spent time by working on just the right colors and overlay for "his" marble picture. Maybe he will catch the photo bug like his mama! Thanks buddy!

Week 3 - Family Heirlooms
I know this may seem like a strange picture to include in a gratitude blog, but I am extremely grateful for my collection of family heirlooms. Each item holds a special memory and tells a story about my ancestors. What great items to pass down to my children!

Week 2 - My Favorite Guys
These are my favorite guys in the whole world and I am so grateful every day for them! Even though they didn't want to pose for my picture taking session, I did manage to get one where they all looked good! Thanks guys!

Week 1 - Harley
Okay - I know I said my first post would be next week, but I had some spare time today and found myself grateful for some peace and quiet.
This is our new Lab puppy, Harley. After she spent the morning barking wildly at the cat and our Cavapoo, digging up the mulch around our pear tree, and bringing in half of the dead grass in the backyard, I found myself extremely grateful that she finally wore herself out!
I can't complain too much though because she let me take about 25 pictures of her before she rolled over and completely ignored me. She really is a good dog and we are glad she is part of our family!
